A lot of people have question about the radon vent pipe cap. Is it obligatory to install the cap on the vent of the drainage pipe? The answer is not really. It depends on many factor and considerations which I am going to explain here.

But here is the answer that as the particles enter the outlet of pipe, the power of the fan will stop particles to go down across the piping.

Another reason not to have drain cap is that when gas contacts with the cap in winter season, the gas will possibly convert to liquid state and eventually it will freeze. And this will act as a barricade in the flow of gas to outer atmosphere.
Furthermore, what if the water due to rain or by any other means enter the drain pipe? The answer is still same. The fan speed and repulsion fill be enough to stop the water to go down the pipe.
