Do you dream of quitting your job and becoming an entrepreneur?  It can be a challenge to juggle starting up a business and keeping your job out of necessity.  A bounce house rental business is one that can be easy to start up with little investment of time and money and still allow you to keep your job until you are in profit.

This is possible because most bounce house rentals take place on the weekend.  If a bounce house is rented during the week, it can be set up in advance the evening before.  Once your income from your inflatable rental business takes off, it will be easy to quit your job.

This business model is relatively easy and pretty much stress free.  Of course you will require a little bit of marketing, but your job is simply to deliver and set up the bounce house. Once the rental time is finished, you will need to deflate it and carry it back.

You will need a vehicle with a cargo area or a trailer.  You can start out with one bounce house and add more as you grow your business. The inflatable will come with it’s own blower, but you might want to think about having a generator in case you rent it out to a space with no electricity since the blower will require power. Some inflatables come with a water slide.  If you are going to offer the water park package, you should have a few very long hoses.

You might want to also have a helper for the deliveries and pick-ups as some bounce house units can weight 100 to 400 pounds.  Your helper can also serve as a monitor when needed and you will find a high school kid perfect for the job.

There are varying degrees of durability in the materials used for constructing a bounce house.  The price will reflect the durability factor.  There are some inflatables that will run $1,500.00 to $2,000.00.  These models would be suitable for a private birthday party, but if you are looking to rent your units as a larger amusement attraction you should plan on spending $4,000.00 and up for the higher commercial grade.

In any case, you will want your bouncers to be made of the commercial grade PVC material.  The extra investment will pay off because your unit will last longer and you will have no problem keeping your customers safe.  Commercial grade bounce houses have more spring to them and give your clients a better experience as well as keeping them safe.

Insurance will be necessary and compliance with any state regulations and taxes are a must.  You do not want to risk having such a profitable business shut down because you did not pay attention to your requirements.  Every state is different, so do your due diligence

There are so many ways to market your inflatable bounce house business.  The obvious is having a website, or an ad in the local newspaper or yellow pages.   But word of month is always one of your best forms of advertising.

To get you off the ground, offer your bounce house at a discount to a friend whose child is having a birthday party.  Ask for recommendations in exchange.  As you start to grow, you will attract more and more customers as long as you are providing a positive experience.

If you have a bounce house that is not in use, think about donating it for a day at a local charity event or at a little league event.  This could bring you a lot of business if you use your inflatable as a bouncing billboard.

Finally, make sure that your rental contact information is clearly visible at every event where your bounce house shows up.  You never know if a person attending the event or simply driving by will be your next customer.
